Founded and Launched in 2022, by Joseph A. Johnson and co-anchored by Roz Pace, FACE Specialist @ CREC Central, Kim Brown-Greene, FACES Specialist @ GEHMS and Nicole Castro, FACES Specialist @ Discovery Academy. The CREC Fatherhood Initiative has proven to be more than just a program—it’s a movement. We are challenging traditional biases, breaking systematic barriers, and reshaping the way schools engage with fathers and father figures. By pushing past outdated social norms, we are creating a culture where fatherhood is recognized as a powerful force in education and community development.

The CREC Fatherhood Initiative believes that when fathers are engaged, families thrive, students succeed, and communities grow stronger. The Fatherhood Initiative is designed to bridge the gap between home and school, ensuring that fathers and father figures feel valued, welcomed, and empowered to play an active role in their children’s education.

Through Dads N’ Discussion events, family movie nights, hands-on school activities, leadership workshops, and mentorship opportunities, we are transforming how fathers connect with their children’s learning experience. We are not just changing conversations—we are changing systems to create lasting, meaningful engagement. The CREC Fatherhood Initiative is proudly partnered with the Connecticut Fatherhood Initiative, Department of Children and Families Fatherhood Services, The Village of Children and Families Father Engagement Services, Real Dads Forever, and many more.
